We have all heard a song from our past that reminds us of people that we loved, people we miss, even people we hate. Music is a very potent memory jogger. Tonight I heard a song from my past that for some reason reminded me of someone that I thought I didn't like anymore. She used to call me ANYTIME she heard this song playing, day or night, and tell me to listen to it. We had a falling out years ago, and I stopped talking to her. Nothing really bad, just a difference in ages and priorities that we could not reconcile. I have heard this song dozens of times in the intervening years, and have never been affected by it. Tonight, as the words of this song escaped from the speakers and wafted their way into my mind, I began to cry. I cried because I realize now that I truly miss her.
